Most Common Questions About Ataraxy
Ataraxy is a multidiscipline clinic and healthcare facility offering holistic approach to your care. This means that at Ataraxy you can receive coordinated care from a team of clinician from different physical therapy disciplines. This approach ensures that you will receive a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan. At Ataraxy you will receive the best care possible.
We treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries. Any physical concerns or goals you have can be addressed by our clinicians. You do not need a Doctor’s referral to see any Ataraxy Clinician. However, a doctor may refer you to a Ataraxy clinician, for post surgery rehabilitation, chronic pain, injury, or some form of disability.
Check with your insurance coverage to see if they require a Doctor’s referral for your treatment.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your initial appointment to fill out the appropriate forms.
On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out some forms about your medical history, current condition, and goals for treatment.
This will be followed by a one-on-one assessment with one of our qualified clinicians, who will evaluate your movement, strength, flexibility, and pain.
Based on the assessment, your clinician will design a Personalized Treatment Plan for you and explain the recommended treatment and modalities.
You will then receive your first treatment.
Following your treatment your clinician will explain the recommended Exercise Treatment Plan, and recommend a follow-up appointment time.
You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
The frequency of your visits will depend on your Assessment and the resulting Personalized Treatment Plan. Initially, you may need more frequent appointments for treatment, evaluation, and management. As your condition stabilizes, appointments may become less frequent. Your care team will work with you to establish what treatment schedule is best for you.
We provide direct billing for certain insurance companies. See our “Direct Billing” page for a full list of supported Insurance Companies, or for more information about Direct Billing.
Please let the staff know your insurance policy and provider before the treatment so we can provide you with accurate information on your billings.
If your provider is not on the list, please give us a call to confirm.
We are not responsible for your insurance coverage or any deductibles, doctor’s note rejections, plan rejections and/or co-pay.
If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact your insurance provider to get more information on your insurance plan.
We require 24 hours notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. If you fail to provide sufficient notice or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full cost of your treatment.

You should wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothes that allow you to move freely and expose the area that needs treatment. For example, if you have a knee problem, you should wear shorts or pants that can be rolled up. You should also bring a pair of clean socks and shoes, as you may be asked to walk or exercise during the session.

Medical Foot Care FAQs
Medical Foot Care has many benefits, including decreased callouses, proper nail trimming, decreased chance of ingrown toe nail formation, decreased foot pain and much more.
This depends on which appointment you have selected, check out our Foot Care page for more details on what is included in each visit.
Foot Care is not covered by most health insurance plans and is not covered by MSP. However, is considered a medical expense and can be claimed on your income tax.
Cancellation Policy
Your time is valuable, and so is ours. With that in mind:
- 24 hours notice: is required for all cancelled or rescheduled appointments. This allows someone else an opportunity to receive care in your place.
- Less than 24 hours notice: You will be charged the full treatment amount if we are unable to fill the slot.
- Missed appointments: with no prior notice you will be charged the full amount of the scheduled treatment and you may be restricted from being able to book online in the future.
- Please note: missed appointments cannot be billed to your extended health benefits provider.
Our cancellation policy allows our clinicians to stay busy, get paid, and be available to clients who need your cancelled treatment times—we don’t like it, but we have to have one.
